High-Speed Swing-Boom Saw

for Standard-Flow or High-Flow Skid Steers

The Turbo Saw Tree Cutter uses a high speed circular cutting disc with durable carbide cutting teeth to cut at speeds up to 10" per second. The key to the Turbo Saw's success: efficiency. The high speed disc translates to smaller bites multiplying the available hydraulic power. Small, fast bites means the Turbo Saw can also cut brush or even grass with ease and leave a smooth stump. Another excellent advantage of the high speed disc is the ability to cut hardwoods as easily as softwoods allowing the operator to tackle anything from brush and vines to trees of any kind.

The Turbo Saw High-Speed Swing Boom Saw allows the operator to stop the skid steer and use the boom to maneuver the cutting disc from side to side in a 10' foot arch well outside the wheelbase on both side of the skid steer. This feature greatly increases operator precision and decreases the maneuvering required of the skid steer thereby minimizing damage done to the ground. A wiring harness and waterproof buttons are included to operate the swing boom feature.

Safety Features

Safety is a primary concern of Dougherty Forestry Mfg. Each turbo saw has more standard safety features than the competition. The operator's manual is contained within a waterproof canister on the skid steer for easy access.

Blade Shield

A shield behind the blade prevents sawdust from being directed towards the operator

V Shield

Heavy expanded metal places a barrier between the operator and the material being cut. This keeps limbs from entering the cab on bushy trees. The V shield above the expanded metal deflects falling limbs to the side of the machine.

Sprayer system

A 5-gallon, poly sprayer tank and 12 volt electric pump is standard on every Turbo Saw. The adjustable spray tip is located behind the blade shield. The spray tip is recessed into the frame to limit damage. The poly tank is rated to withstand all herbicides and diesel fuel.

Pushing Guard

The pushing guard above the cutting disc gives the operator valuable leverage against the trunks of standing trees so they will fall forward away from the operator. The operator puts leverage on the tree while the tree is still connected to stump leaving a hinge to control the fall of the tree.
Frame Design

All primary hydraulic hoses and electric leads are hidden within the frame of the Turbo Saw to prevent damage from limbs and debris. Bulkhead fittings are used where the hoses pass through the frame to limit wear. The hoses from the skid steer to the attachment are covered with sleeve for wear and safety.

Operating Weight

The Turbo Saw has a light operating weight of 850lbs to 1050lbs. Lightweight attachments protect the skid steer from excess wear and protect the owner’s investment. However, this lightweight doesn't affect durability. The frame of the unit is covered by a lifetime warranty against defects.

Mounting Bracket

All Turbo Saw skid steer mounted saws come with a quick attach plate which fits all modern skid steers. This makes attaching a Torque Saw quick and easy. The Torque Saw is engineered with a generous roll back angle giving the operator the flexibility to reach difficult areas. The 7’ boom allows for trimming up to 18’ high, depending on the skid steer.

Excellent Visibility

The Turbo Saw is designed to allow the operator excellent visibility to see the stump. By angling the disc slightly downward the stump is cut below ground level. The stump is smooth and will not damage tires or harm livestock.
Cutting Force

Drive Train

There is no maintenance or adjustment on the drive train for up to 800 to 1200 hours. The hydraulic motor has a spline output that mates directly with a heavy duty bearing block. The frame of the Turbo Saw has an anti-wrap feature to prevent twine or vines from wrapping around the drive shaft.

TS3 Cutting Tooth

The TS3 Cutting tooth has been developed out of mining grade carbide allowing for ground contact. The tooth can be rotated three times and has a 200 - 500 hour tooth life. The operating cost is well below competing attachments at under $0.69 per hour. The teeth can be rotated or replaced easily in the field using hand tools.

High Speed Cutting Disc

The cutting disc on the Turbo Saw turns at 2,000 rpm allowing the Turbo Saw to cut brush as well as trees. The teeth have an aggressive cutting angle and a limited bite, which increase efficiency, multiply available power, and minimize chip size for safety. This speed allows the Turbo Saw to cut brush as well as trees. A hardened, machined skid plate is placed beneath the cutting disc to protect the fasteners during ground contact.
